  • Dr. Ellen Levitian
    Dr. Ellen Levitian

    Dr. Ellen Levitian was originally born in Russia and came to the United States at the age of 5 years old. At a young age, Dr. Ellen developed a passion for animals and knew she wanted to pursue veterinary medicine as a future career. She received her undergraduate degree in Pre-veterinary Animal Science at Rutgers University and worked at Summit Dog and Cat Hospital as a full time technician prior to veterinary school. Dr. Ellen received her veterinary degree at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine after which she completed her clinical year at North Carolina State University. She is very excited to provide excellent care for your four-legged family members and is focused on practicing high quality medicine with emphasis on compassion and client education. In her spare time, Dr. Ellen enjoys her pets Ariel (Black Labrador Retriever) and Morgan Mufasa (Orange Tabby Cat), horseback riding, traveling, pool and beach lounging, and exploring new foods.

    Dr. Lepkowski

    We are excited to announce that dr. Lepkowski is joining our medical team at Summit Dog & Cat Hospital. She is a graduate of Warsaw University of Life and Sciences in Warsaw, Poland. Doctor Lepkowski has special interest in feline medicine, soft tissue surgery, pain management and emergency medicine. Her long term clients call her 'the cat whisperer'.   • Joan P. Capuzzi, VMD
    Joan P. Capuzzi, VMD

    Joan P. Capuzzi, VMD holds BA and veterinary degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, and has worked in small animal practice in the Philadelphia area for 20 years.

    A journalist as well, she has written for the Philadelphia Inquirer, Time Magazine, Business Philadelphia, Dog Fancy and Dog World, among others; she also wrote a book (Puppies, Globe Pequot Press 2010). Joan sits on several college and community boards, has a special interest in public health and animal welfare, and is involved with several organizations whose missions are to improve the lives of domesticated - and wild - animals. The mother of two children in college, she lives in Radnor, Pennsylvania with three dogs and a rabbit. In her free time, she enjoys the beach, skiing and horsebackriding.
